About Green & Nature Club

The Green Club of Bahirji Smarak Mahavidyalaya, Basmathnagar is an active and vibrant eco-initiative that aims to foster environmental consciousness, sustainable practices, and ecological responsibility among students. The club works with the vision of nurturing environmentally responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to conservation efforts at the campus and community level.

The club organizes a variety of impactful programs throughout the academic year. These include guest lectures, expert interactions, and awareness sessions that help students understand environmental challenges and sustainable solutions. The Green Club also conducts outdoor activities such as seedball preparation, seedball dumping, tree plantation drives, and campus green enhancement activities, all designed to promote afforestation and biodiversity conservation.

The club actively celebrates important environmental days like World Environment Day, Earth Day, Ozone Day, Wildlife Week, and more. Activities related to waste management, energy conservation, plastic-free campaigns, and biodiversity protection are regularly conducted to promote eco-friendly habits and responsible behavior among students.

A significant achievement of the Green Club is its successful participation in the Youth Engagement and Water Stewardship Project, conducted by the Centre for Environment and Education (CEE) in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, UNICEF, Higher Education Institutions, and ACWADAM. Under this project, the college carried out various water-related awareness programs, capacity-building sessions, field-based surveys, and student-led action projects focusing on water conservation, groundwater literacy, and sustainable water management. The involvement of the Green Club in this prestigious initiative strengthened students’ understanding of environmental stewardship and community-based conservation.

Through all these initiatives, the Green Club of Bahirji Smarak Mahavidyalaya, Basmathnagar continues to uphold its commitment to protecting the environment and inspiring youth to become responsible and proactive Green Ambassadors for a sustainable future.
