1.Brief history

The Department of Economics was established simultaneously with the foundation of the college. Initially, Prof. R. R. Patange and Prof. V. B. Hastarkar served as the faculty members in the department. Later, Prof. R. R. Patange Was appointed as Principal of the college in 1980. and worked for 25 years. Then Prof. R. K. Ippar joined the department as a faculty member and joined as Principal at Parli Vaijanath.

At present, Dr. Sonaji Sheshrao Patange is serving as the Professor and Head of the UG and PG Department. Dr. Seema Vishwanath Bhosale is working as an assistant professor in the department. Additionally, two CHB assistant professors are actively working in the Post graduate section. The department regularly undertakes several academic initiatives, including certificate courses. Moreover, conscious efforts are made by the department to address and resolve the academic difficulties faced by students.

A. Title:
A Study of WomenтАЩs Self- Help Group in Vasmath Taluka

B. Objectives:
1 Getting used to collect primary data to students.
2 To develop interest of research among students.
3 To convince the importance of saving through their studies.
4 To grow the self-employment approach among the students.

C. The Context:

Two students from BATY and Nineteen students from BASY have been participated in the study. To make student aware about how they can get loan through the small self-help group of women from the National and State banks. It is made to develop the ability of self-sufficiency through the saving. This study is made to make student strong in their future. For this the students have taken the study of a single small self-help group from their village.

D. Evidence of Success:

Many students tried to create a questionnaire to make the activity success. They filled it and tried to present an analysis of the savings. They also tried to meet as many members of selling group as possible.
