The Department of political science has existed since the establishment of the college in 1971. Dr. P.W PATIL joined the department as permanent faculty member on 1996 Since then he has continued serving the department as HOD till today. In February 2025 S.N.YALPALWAD joined the department as permanent faculty.
Two faculty members were working as permanent faculty. Over the last 30 years, department has been organizing another is Voters Awareness Programme to increase the participation in democratic festivals. Both faculties have played the role as NSS Programme Officer. Faculty members of the department continue to engage in research activities.
Lots of Alumni of the department are playing the role in the society as politician government servant, teacher, and entrepreneur.
The department motivates the students to participate in different cultural competitions and competitive examinations. Several girl students have won the cash prizes on deferent occasions. Over the last two years department successfully running the competitive examinations and guidance cell. More than hundred students are attending regular classes.

Course Outcomes: In the "Certificate Course" conducted by the Department of Political Science, the students were given information on the subject of Political Science along with "Fundamental Rights and Indian Constitution". This certificate study course helped the students to know about our constitution and basic rights and authority. Through this course, the students were informed about the fundamental rights given in the Indian constitution and how it was divided. Also, the formation of the constitution, historical background was also studied in the presented courses. Also, awareness was created among the students regarding Indian Parliament, Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, President, Prime Minister. This course gave the students a thorough understanding of the Indian Constitution. Students' understanding of Indian democracy, fundamental rights, Indian Parliament, Indian Constitution increased. |

The Indian Constitution is more than a legal documentтАФit is a vision for a just, inclusive, and united society. In todayтАЩs context, it is important that students not only know about the Constitution but adopt its values in their daily lives. тАЬConstitutional CultureтАЭ refers to a mindset that goes beyond knowing rightsтАФit emphasizes duties, tolerance, and adherence to democratic values. This program was conducted in schools/colleges to help students understand, appreciate, and apply constitutional principles in real life
Students actively participated in the reading of the Preamble and took the pledge тАЬI support the values of the Indian ConstitutionтАЭ. Essay, speech, poster and art competitions based on constitutional topics were organized. Presentations and group discussions were also organized on key constitutional provisions. In a session titled тАЬConstitution in my daily lifeтАЭ, students presented their personal views. The teachers and students discussed the relevance of constitutional values in daily situations. The feedback showed that awareness and sensitivity towards constitutional ideals had increased.
