1.Brief history

The Department of Zoology has existed since the establishment of the college in 1992, with three different faculties. The college was established in 1971 with art & commerce faulty. At the beginning Shri S.S. Bhalerao was appointed as the Head of the department. and after two years Shri. S.D. Dhimdhime joined as a full-time teacher. Both of them made great contributions to develop the department of zoology. Two faculty members were working as permanent faculty. Since then, Dr. S.S. Bhalerao has continued serving a HOD of the department, till date.

Over the last 33 years, the department with well equipped with qualified staff. department has been organizing Number of Best Practices. One was organizing educational long tours for scientific and moral values for the student and staff. Both faculties have played the role as BOS members and NSS Programme Officer. Faculty members of the department continue to engage in research activities.

Lots of Alumni of the department are playing the role in the society as teacher, assistant professor, lab assistant, malaria officer, steno geographer, politician, government servant. The department motivates the students to participate in different cultural competitions and competitive examinations. Several students have won the cash prizes on different competitive occasions.

Over the last few years department successfully running the competitive examination on zoology subject. So more and more students are attending regular classes. Department gives 100% result to the college.

A. Title:

B. Objectives:
1. To enhance blood awareness among young new generation.

C. The Context:
1. The Best activities are arranged as per norm of government medicinal authorities through student awareness or blood donation, arranging blood donation camp in NSS or Physical Education. According to this, students prepare them salve to do part in blood donation camps and some are absent. Also, students don’t get enough time to participate in blood donate activities, due to their studies or loss of blood.
2. The Blood donation camp is organize on the “occasion of science Day on 28 Feb.
3. Students from rural area, shows more interest in donation as compare to urban students, even their economics is not much more
D. Evidence of Success:
1. Number of students and stakeholders are enthusiastically participated in the activity of blood group identification the student also participate in wall poster presentation to provide values of blood donation and about Corona virus. They also enthusiastically take part in blood group identification and how to identify Rh Factor of blood groups. When we have taken a poster competition they are aware about blood identification and take part in donation for blood on the other hand students achieve cash prize from head of department as a honor.
2. The student who are benchmarks of resulted get the certificate of blood group with incompatibility of Rh factoring month of October. The student ku. Godhawale V.S. And Mr. Kharate P.K. achieve the certificate of blood group in the entire present of students in the class B.Sc. FY The head of physical education. Felicitate the certificate and prize.
3. The Students and stakeholder get information about the blood. Such as, when blood in the body cell is normal with sickle like size, then the student with sickle cell anemia in the body. Because of sickle cell. The students become and wakeel welling of joints, body with yellow color, pains in the body.
