Bahirji Smarak Mahavidyalaya

Bahirji Smarak Mahavidyalaya, Basmathnagar is imparting quality education in rural area since its establishment in 1971 in the jurisdiction of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded (MS). The college is run by Hu. Bahirji Smarak Vidyalaya Education Society, Wapti which was established on 10 Feb., 1958. The Society is one of the foremost education institutes in the Marathwada region providing education to the needy, deprived and downtrodden masses. The college is named after Freedom Fighter Martyr Bahirji Shinde who sacrificed his life in Marathwada Liberation Movement in 1948.

The college initially offered courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams and later introduced Post Graduate Courses like M.A. Marathi, M.Com., M.Sc. Chemistry, M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Botany, and Research Centers in 4 Subjects like Marathi, Commerce, Chemistry, and Physics. At present, the college has become an educational hub with 03 UG and 05 PG Programmes.

Guided by Hon. Jaiprakashji Dandegaonkar (President), Hon. Adv. Munjajirao Jadhav (Vice President), and Hon. Panditraoji Deshmukh (Secretary), the college was accredited by NAAC in 2005 with C++ grade, followed by B+ in the second cycle in 2016, and A grade (3.02 CGPA) in the third cycle in 2023.

We offer BA, BCom, BSc at UG level and MA Marathi, MCom, MSc in Chemistry, Physics, Botany at PG level. The college also boasts 4 recognized research centers and PhD supervisors in 13 subjects.
