A. Title: Vivek Vahini

B. Objectives:

To create a society based on reason, to eradicate superstition, to promote science and the spread of undesirable ideas, to create good and intellectual citizens.

C. The Context:

Bahirji Smarak Mahavidyalaya is a college in Vasmat taluka i.e. rural area. The people of this area are very backward economically, socially and educationally, so the life there is based on traditional values. They are trapped in customs, superstitions and the false prestige of caste, so their economic, social and educational development has not been as it should be. On behalf of our department, the Vivek Vahini, which works for social change under the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti, is implemented as a best practice initiative in our college on behalf of the Marathi department.

Through this Vivek Vahini, efforts are being made to make the college students aware and conscious to eliminate superstitions in the society. The role of building a good citizen society and nation based on conscience is behind this best practice and Vivek Vahini is working for this.
